Primarily yes, however there will be exercises in which a web interface will need to be considered as part of overall collateral.

Shillington Masterclass will be providing an overview of different specialities within the industry; branding, packaging, advertising and illustration along with tools to make you a better all round designer. If you are strongly focused in one particular area of design we will be providing advice on how to tailor your portfolio in order to strongly appeal to that particular sector.
There will be a maximum of 22 students per class. Yes, each student will be provided with a computer to use in class.
Yes. Shillington Masterclass will cover general business practices for graphic designers, including job costing, working with suppliers, effective time management and general business organisation.
Yes there will be both in and out of class time. You should expect to be dedicating approximately 4-5 hours to homework per week. Part of this homework time will be spent doing research for upcoming briefs.
No. Shillington Masterclass is not a Masters Degree.
Yes. We will be demonstrating the most functional ways to use all CS3 programs at a professional level, relevant to the brief/exercise at hand. However, we do expect a thorough working knowledge of all three programs, please download our entry requirements form to see if you meet the criteria.
Yes. All the briefs completed during the course are potential portfolio pieces. Your current portfolio will be assessed during the course and suggestions will be made on how you can improve the current content, add to the content with work completed during the course and improve the overall presentation.
Employers can generally get a full tax deduction for any professional development for anything over $250 provided the education being undertaken by staff is in direct connection with their work and will improve their skills. The expenses are not limited purely to education, though: travel from the office to college/TAFE/uni etc, books prescribed by the course, stationary, etc, are all claimable as well.
Basically, if the answer is yes to each of the following it is generally acceptable:
1. Is the course directly related to my work?
2. Is the course going to improve my skills?
Yes you do have to pay gst. The total amount of gst is to be paid on Day 1 of the course.
